I'm Mckayla. I grew up around here, I fish and ride more than I should, and I started carrying a camera because the people I was with were doing things worth keeping.

I like real light and real weather, and people who are doing something rather than posing for me. If that sounds like your day, we'll get along.

About

I'm Mckayla, a photographer based in Bozeman.

I shoot weddings and elopements, portraits, and commercial work for outdoor and spirits brands. Most of it happens outside, within a couple hours of town. Some of it happens in Hawaii or wherever a client needs me.

I started with a camera on fishing trips and in the backcountry, photographing friends who were too busy to notice. That's still how I like to work. I'm not going to put you in a pose you'd never stand in. I'll find the light, give you something to do, and let the day happen.

When I'm not shooting I'm on a river, on a sled, or driving somewhere with the dog.
